Texcel Passes Environmental and Quality Audit with Flying Colours

Setting the standard for responsible manufacturing and continuous improvement, read more about Texcel's pass here.

Texcel Technology has successfully completed its latest ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 audits with no non-conformances, reaffirming our commitment to quality, environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.

The audit, carried out in early October, confirmed that our systems continue to meet high standards for quality management and environmental performance. It reflects the collective effort of our entire team and the consistency that runs through every part of our operation in Crayford.

“We’re following best practice to ensure Texcel continues to operate responsibly and efficiently, setting the right standard for our industry.” Luke Vincett, Finance Director

A company-wide commitment

At Texcel, environmental performance is not an afterthought. It’s reviewed formally every six months as part of our management reviews, ensuring that progress is measured and actions are clear. Our environmental policy covers key areas including energy, water, waste, noise and statutory nuisance and dangerous substances.

While ultimate responsibility sits with the directors, sustainability is a shared value across the whole company. Every employee has a part to play in achieving our goals, and the main information boards display progress towards our environmental targets, a daily reminder that we are all accountable for positive change.

Results that make a difference

Over the past year, Texcel has achieved measurable results. We have made more effective use of our space. Paper usage fell by 6% in 2024, despite a one-third rise in sales orders. Fuel consumption dropped by 13% following the introduction of three electric vehicles and a more efficient delivery fleet, enabling multiple customer deliveries on a single route.

Electric vehicle charging points have been installed on site, and our cycle-to-work scheme continues to encourage greener commuting. LED lighting upgrades across the facility have delivered a 7.4% reduction in electricity usage and water consumption has remained steady even with enhanced hygiene standards since COVID.

Reducing waste and improving efficiency

Within manufacturing, Texcel continues to manage old circuit boards, electrical waste and chemical by-products through safe, environmentally controlled processes. Environmental impact is now a consideration in every new equipment purchase.

To support this journey, Texcel partners with an external environmental consultant who provides expert benchmarking, guidance and best-practice advice to keep us on the right path.

Moving forward responsibly

The clean audit result confirms that our systems are not only compliant but robust and effective. For Texcel, quality and sustainability go hand in hand. They are part of how we do business every day, creating reliable products while taking care of the world we build them in.

Maintaining this level of discipline, compliance and quality assurance allows Texcel to stand out as a trusted manufacturing partner. Our commitment to safety, environmental care and continuous improvement means our customers can depend on us to deliver excellence in every aspect of PCB manufacturing and design.
